Welcome
Let the fun begin.
Thank you for scheduling your session with me! This page is for clients of Kaycee Moreira Photos.
On this page, you will find all of the information you need about your scheduled shoot with Kaycee Moreira.
Family Sessions in Central Florida
Location: A week prior to your session I will reach out and we can decide on a location if we did not immediately upon booking. I have a blog post here that lists several locations where I enjoy shooting.
Time: 75-60 minutes before sunset. This time is called “golden hour” and the light is much more flattering. During daylight savings, it’s usually closer to 6 or even 7 PM, and when daylight savings ends it can be as early as 4 PM. I will confirm this time with you at the same time that we confirm the location. Many families tell me that they simply have the kids take a late nap or have some downtime prior to their evening session if it is the summer and later in the evening.
Length Of Session: My sessions rarely exceed one hour. I can get my work down quickly and still provide multiple poses, and typically look for 2-3 different scenes at our location.
What To Wear: Your clothing should be comfortable and reflect who you are. I do not recommend matching but rather coordinating. Overly busy prints often don’t show up well. I typically recommend jewel tones, earth tones, or neutrals for all. Here is a blog post that gives some advice! Also, I recommend comfortable footwear! I love to encourage play in my session which is impossible if you feel unsteady or uncomfortable in grass, sand, or dirt.
Props: I typically only bring a blanket and possibly a small tarp if I think the ground is damp, for sitting poses. Please let me know if you are looking to include a prop of your own for your session, but I do not provide them for my shoots.
The kids: Children photograph the best when they are at play and not under heavy direction. If your child wants to play, run, or explore, these moments will get captured and show up beautifully on camera. It is helpful to bring dry, non-messy snacks if you are near mealtime or have a constant eater. It’s also helpful to tell them that your friend Kaycee will be meeting them at the park to take their picture, so they aren’t shocked by meeting me!
Please be ready to start at our agreed-upon start time: Your session is based on natural light and the sun won’t wait for us. It is important that we start on time. Please plan for traffic or other variables. It's best to arrive early.
Some helpful things to bring: Non-messy snacks, a hairbrush, baby wipes or paper towels, and a small towel if it’s hot out (for sweat).
In-Home Newborn Sessions
Location: These sessions happen in your home. You have access to all the things you and baby need.
Time: I prefer to do these shoots in mid-morning, around 9-10 AM, and when the baby is 1-3 weeks old if possible. Every baby and every family is different, and I am absolutely fine doing these sessions several months after the baby is born!
Length Of Session: These sessions are baby-led and often take 1-2 hours. Between feedings, snuggles, and calming baby as needed, they have a leisurely pace.
What To Wear: Your clothing should be comfortable and reflect who you are. I do not recommend matching but rather coordinating. I typically recommend jewel tones, earth tones, or neutrals for all. I have a blog post that helps address this here. Neutral PJs and onesies for baby photograph well.
Props: Some blankies or swaddles that don’t have too busy of print are good to have around.
The siblings: I try to get siblings in and out of the session since at home they are usually excited to meet me, take some pictures, and then get back to their toys and their day. Their attention can wain quickly, so I take that into account.
Please be ready to start at our agreed-upon start time: Your session is based on natural light coming into the home and the sun won’t wait for us. It is important that we start on time.
