We Finished Our Session. Now What?
What happens when I go home?
Every time I have gone home from family photos, I'm filled with anticipation. In the age of instant iPhone (or Android... I guess) gratification, it feels a little weird to wait for pictures. So this is what happens.
You: If you did family or grad photos, go out to dinner! You got dressed up, you look nice, you know everyone is hungry. Go celebrate. If you did in-home newborn pictures, maybe take a nap. You have earned it.
Me: I get home and start culling (going through the files for my favorites) and editing.
I'm not going to bore you with the technical details, but just know that I shoot in RAW. If I showed you some shots in-camera, you may notice that the color seems dull. That's how RAW works, but it allows me to apply consistent editing and get the most beautiful colors out of my photographs.
It's my promise to return pictures within 3 weeks (and often my turnaround time is faster, but I have a standard promise of 3 weeks). For family and newborn sessions, I send color and black and white. I deliver my photos via an online album to your email. I will keep them there for at least three months before purging them, so once you receive your email, go to my website, and then you can choose to download the entire gallery or just the ones you want.
You will receive a password to view your album for your privacy. You can download the entire album or your favorites. I recommend doing this from a PC, by the way. The digital files of your high-resolution photos are a lot for your phone, however, you can put them straight on your phone too if you’d like. You can also order prints directly from your album (which is nice because there’s a quality guarantee with that lab).
Some questions you may have:
Do you do sneak peeks? No. I prefer to deliver you the whole album and the whole story of your shoot at once rather than give you one page of the novel.
Can I pay to rush editing? No. My editing queue is fair and square, so I definitely recommend getting to me 4-6 weeks before you want prints, cards, etc. if that's your goal. The only time I rush editing is for my holiday minis because fewer pictures + studio lighting = less editing time.
What is your editing style? I love true, saturated colors and my B&W prints are usually a little dark and grainy.
Can I have all of my files with and without edits? No. I don't send RAWs to clients. I send large galleries, but I am not interested or able to send every RAW file over. I have already agonized over culling and editing a beautiful album for you that tells a story through my artistic vision. Chefs don’t send raw chicken and good photographers don’t send RAW files.
Book today and let’s freeze this moment together.
